About Me
About Me
"What a journey it has been, and the end is not in sight. but the starts are out tonight, and they're bound to guide my way..."
-Lea Salonga (1993), The Journey, Atlantic Records
This web site represents my journey through Nursing Practice and the Academe. It represents my endless struggle to be a better version of myself, either by gaining more experience or by absorbing more knowledge. My peers and mentors are an important part of my journey and to them I hold my greatest gratitude and respect.
Service. Life. Adventure!
Service. I find that service to others specially those most in need (e.g., the sick, the elderly) is one of the most rewarding occupation. As a nurse, I feel privileged to be able to extend my services to the community in varied ways.
Life. Helen Keller (1880-1968) was an American author, political activist, and lecturer. She was the first deaf, mute and blind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree. She once said, "Life could only be either of two things-- a daring adventure or nothing." I consider these words as great guidance. The opportunity to grow and help people, despite the odds.
Adventure! Nursing is an adventure into service, and a rewarding adventure at that. My adventures has taken me to travel nursing in Texas and California, Stanford University and University of California hospitals, Telemetry, Oncology, Gerontology and Nursing Administration.
My adventure continues with Drexel University in achieving the degree Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Leadership in Health Systems Management. I can feel many more adventure awaits as i embark on getting a Nurse Practitioner (NP) degree with specialization in Family Practice and Gerontology.
A few years back, I wrote an article about one of the things that inspire individuals, like myself, to do what we do. The article is called Roletos of Life.
